Lightening Formula

Formula 1: ChromaSilk VIVIDS Original Violet 30g + 30g Wild Orchid

Formula 2: ChromaSilk VIVIDS Original Grape

Formula 3: ChromaSilk VIVIDS Original Periwinkle

Formula 4: ChromaSilk VIVIDS Original Smokey Violet

Step 1: Sectioning

Section the hair by isolating the fringe then create a nape section by taking a horizontal parting along the bottom of the occipital bone. For the rest of the hair, take a radial parting from behind the ear to behind the ear and another parting from nose to nape to create the PRAVANA standard 4 quadrants.

Step 2: Pre-Lightening

Taking thin slices leaving out very little hair in between each foil, pre-Lighten the hair to Level 9/10 utilizing the Lightening Formula.

Shampoo the hair with PRAVANA Intense Therapy Cleanse. Rinse, towel-dry and apply Silk Degrees Prep & Treat for 5 minutes at the basin to equalize the porosity and provide anchoring sites for VIVIDS direct dyes. Rinse and dry the hair completely.

Step 3: VIVIDS Application – Nape

Section the hair into the same six sections as in Step 1 and apply Formula 1 to the nape section from roots to ends.

Step 4: VIVIDS Application – Fringe

Moving to the fringe section, create a shine line. Take a thin horizontal slice from the bottom and apply Formula 2 to the bottom third, Formula 3 to the middle third (overlapping slightly without blending into the previous shade) and apply Formula 4 Smokey Violet to the top third in the same manner. Take down your next thin horizontal slice laying it down over the previously colored section and repeat the same application. Continue until you complete the entire fringe section.

Step 5: VIVIDS Application – Quadrants

Beginning in Quadrant 1 in the front taking horizontal slices, apply Formula 2 as a shadow root. Then go back and melt the Shadow Root into Formula 3 blending the transition point thoroughly. Repeat the same technique using the same formulas in the opposite Quadrant 3 in the back. Repeat the same technique again in Quadrant 2 in the front and the opposite Quadrant 4 in the back but now applying Formula 4 as a Shadow Root melted into Formula 3.

Process all 30 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with cold water and high water pressure until the water runs clear, condition with PRAVANA Color Protect Condition and style as desired.
