Formulas

Lightening Formula

20g Pure Light Blonding Creme + 40g 20 Volume Creme Developer

Shadow Root Formula

30g ChromaSilk Express Tones After Dark Neutral Pearl – Brunette + 45g Zero Lift Creme Developer

Toning Formula

30g ChromaSilk Platinum Toner Sand + 45g Zero Lift Creme Developer

Prep the hair by spraying Purify & Revive PRIME Demineralizing Spray generously throughout the hair, combing through for even distribution and allowing to sit for 3 minutes (no rinsing or shampoo required). This will diminish any hard water minerals prior to any chemical service.

Pro Tip

Minerals are found in 85% of household water which can cause lightener to puff and swell or color to take inaccurately.

Application

Step 1: Sectioning

Divide the hair into the PRAVANA Standard 4 Quadrants by taking a radial parting from behind the ear to behind the ear and a second parting from nose to nape.

Step 1: Divide the hair into the PRAVANA Standard 4 Quadrants

Pro Tip

Sectioning the hair ahead of time creates a roadmap for your final result.

Step 2: Pre-Lightening

Beginning in one of the front quadrants, take a horizontal zigzag parting and apply the Lightening Formula utilizing a free-hand balayage technique. Drop the finished section into a foil as a barrier method to keep the lightener from transferring onto the natural hair. Leave out ½” and repeat the same method throughout both front quadrants. Then move to the nape area in one of the back quadrants and repeat the same balayage pattern throughout the back of the head.

Step 2: Apply the Lightening Formula utilizing a free-hand balayage technique on the hair

Pro Tip

Starting your application in the front quadrants creates more lightness around the face and less in the back for natural gradiant dimension.

Process at room temperature checking every 5-10 minutes until you have reached a Level 9. Shampoo the hair with Intense Therapy Cleanse and towel-dry well.

Step 3: Color Melt

Following the same pattern beginning in the front quadrants taking horizontal slices, melt the Shadow Root formula into the Toning formula throughout the entire head.

Step 3: Melt the Shadow Root formula into the Toning formula throughout the entire head

Pro Tip

Drag the Shadow Root down less in the front and further in the back for added natural dimension.

Process 5 minutes at room temperature. Rinse well and apply Intense Therapy Condition. Style as desired.
