Application
Step 1: Prep
Prep the hair by spraying Purify and Revive PRIME generously throughout the hair, combing through for even distribution and allowing to sit for 3 minutes (no rinsing or shampoo required). This will diminish any hard water minerals prior to any chemical service.
Pro Tip
Minerals are found in 85% of household water which can cause lightener to puff and swell or color to take inaccurately.
Step 2: Global Blonding Sectioning
Divide the hair into the PRAVANA Standard 4 Quadrants by taking a parting from behind the ear to behind the ear and a second parting from nose to nape.
Pro Tip
Twist the hair in each quadrant into a knot to keep it up and out of your way.
Step 3: Global Blonding
Using a Platinum Card Global Blonding technique, pre-lighten the hair to Level 7 utilizing Formula #1. Take back-to-back slices and start your application ½” away from the scalp to account for the heat zone. Once you have reached 70% of the lift, go back and apply the same formula to the first ½”.
Pro Tip
Pre-lightening is necessary for hair that has been previously treated with permanent color to expose the warm underlying pigment that aids in your final color outcome.
Process up to 55 minutes at room temperature checking every 5-10 minutes. Cleanse the hair with Truity Cleanse. Rinse, towel-dry and apply Silk Degrees Prep & Treat for 5 minutes at the basin to equalize the porosity and provide anchoring sites for your color application. Rinse and dry the hair completely.
Step 4: Geometric Color Sectioning
Divide the hair into eight triangles – three in the front and five in the back to create a geometric pattern.
Step 5: Geometric Color Application
Beginning the color application in one triangle at the nape of the neck, apply Formula #2 to the first inch of the hair, then apply Formula #3 to the mid-lengths and ends blending the transition point. For the next adjacent triangle, switch your formulas to Formula #3 at the base blending into Formula #2 on the mid-lengths and ends. Repeat this pattern in the remaining six sections.
Pro Tip
Alternating your formulas creates more dimension in the hair and defines the geometric patterning.
Process 30 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with cold water and high water pressure until the water runs clear, condition with TRUITY Condition and style as desired.
Step 6: Style
Towel-dry the hair and detangle with Intense Therapy Leave In-Treatment. Finger set 1” x 1” sections of the hair and diffuse.
Pro Tip
Once dry, to create volume use your fingertips to shake and lift the scalp area only as you apply Super Shape Hairspray. This will help not to disturb the coils formed in the mid-lengths to ends.
