Lightening Formula

Step 1

Section the hair into the PRAVANA Standard 5 by taking a radial parting from behind the ear to behind the ear. Then take a horizontal parting along the parietal ridge on each side of the head in the front section to create a mohawk section and two side sections. Finally, take a vertical parting in the back to divide the hair into two sides.

Step 2

Pre-lighten the hair using a Teasylight technique and the Lightening Formula.

Step 3

Apply the Base Formula while the lightener is processing.

Process 30 minutes at room temperature while keeping an eye on the teasylights and removing the lightener earlier if necessary. The lightener can process up to 55 minutes checking every 5 to 10 minutes until you reach a Level 8/9. Cleanse thoroughly with PRAVANA’s Intense Therapy Cleanse and dry the hair completely.

Step 4

Apply the Shadow Root Formula.

Next, take a 1” Face Frame section and melt the Shadow Root Formula into ChromaSilk VIVIDS Formula 1.

Take another 1” section behind that section and melt the Shadow Root Formula into ChromaSilk VIVIDS Formula 2.

For the remaining hair, melt the Shadow Root into ChromaSilk VIVIDS Formula 3 in the mid-shaft and into ChromaSilk VIVIDS Formula 2 in the ends.

Process 30 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with cold water and high water pressure until the water runs clear. Apply PRAVANA’s Color Protect Condition and rinse and style as desired.
