Mid-lengths and Ends Formulas

Application
Prep the hair by spraying Purify & Revive PRIME Demineralizing Spray combing through to distribute evenly and allowing to sit for 3 minutes while you mix your lightener. This will diminish any minerals in the hair that can affect the color and condition of the hair during a lightening service. (No shampoo or rinsing required.)
Step 1: Section
Create three large diagonal back sections on each side: First section, take a diagonal back section starting 1-1/2” back from the center of the hairline to right above the ear. Second section, take a diagonal back section 2” back from the first section to just behind the ear. Third section, all of the hair remaining behind the second section will be your third section.
Pro Tip
When creating a monochromatic palette, taking diagonal sections allows the shades to blend together.
Step 2: Color Application – Section 1
Apply a 1-1/2” shadow root with the Base Color formula. Next, apply Mid-lengths and Ends Formula 1 and blend the transition point.
Pro Tip
VIVIDS Everlasting shades can be applied directly to hair that has been previously lightened or hair that is naturally blonde.
Step 3: Color Application – Section 2
Apply a 1-1/2” shadow root with the Base Color formula. Next, apply Mid-lengths and Ends Formula 2 and blend the transition point.
Pro Tip
Hold the hair vertically when color melting for a seamless transition and hold each section between your index and middle fingers using a vertical motion to blend the transition point where the two colors meet.
Step 4: Color Application – Section 3
Apply a 1-1/2” shadow root with the Base Color formula. Next, apply Mid-lengths and Ends Formula 3 and blend the transition point.
Pro Tip
Lightly mist Intense Therapy Leave-In Treatment to slightly dampen the hair before applying the color in between the foils for easier application.
Process 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 5: Shampoo and Style
Cleanse and condition with PRAVANA’s Color Protect regimen. Cocktail PRAVANA Polish & ReUnite with a few drops of PRAVANA Hydra Pearl Oil, apply to well-towel dried hair and blowdry. Apply a few light sprays of PRAVANA Hydra Pearl Mist and style with a 1-1/4 marcel iron. All of these styling products provide thermal protection up to 450 degrees.
