Application

Step 1: Section

Create three sections by first taking out a 1-2” Halo parting all the way around the head. Then divide the rest of the hair into a Top section and a Back section by taking a parting from the parietal ridge to the bottom of the crown on each side creating a “V”.

Pro Tip

Find the Parietal Ridge by placing a comb vertically on the side of the head and tipping it where the head begins to round.

Step 2: Pre-Lighten – Halo

Starting in the left rear quadrant in the Halo section create soft highlights alternating a babylight with a slice. Repeat in all four quadrants of the Halo section.

Pro Tip

For a more diffused hairline, after the first two highlights tease each section first.

Step 3: Pre-Lighten – Back

Pre-lighten the Back section mimicking a Sun Ray pattern starting in the right quadrant 1” above the Halo parting working your way in a radial fashion around to the left quadrant leaving hair out in between each parting.

Pro Tip

Create a more diffused look by using a finer babylight weave or choose a larger weave or back-to-back slices for higher contrast depending on your desired results.

Step 4: Pre-Lighten – Top

Follow the same Sun Ray pattern in the top section. Standing behind your client, begin your highlights in the right top quadrant 1” above the “V” parting that separates the top from the back.

Pro Tip

To keep it more natural, use a baby light weave and for bolder pops of blonding still use a babylight weave, but create back-to-back sections of 3 leaving hair out in between.

Process up to 55 minutes at room temperature checking every 5 to 10 minutes until you reach a Level 9/10. Thoroughly cleanse with PRAVANA’s Color Protect Cleanse. Rinse and towel dry.

Step 5: Color Application

Starting in the nape area, apply the Base Formula as a Shadow Root leaving out the Halo section in the front quadrants. Next, apply the Midlengths/Ends Formula blending the transition point with the Shadow Root. Finally apply the Hairline Formula to the front Halo sections from roots to ends.
