Application
Prep
To diminish minerals spray Purify & Revive PRIME Demineralizing Spray generously, comb through, and allow to sit for 3 minutes while you mix your color (no rinsing or shampoo required).
Sectioning
Section the hair into 4 sections: Create a mohawk section, part from ear to ear to create 2 side sections and leave the back as your last section.
Step 1
Starting in the nape area, take a vertical back parting from each side creating a “V”. Slice a ½” subsection, tease the hair once or twice and weave the remaining hair. Apply the Base formula on top of the teased hair and apply the Lightening formula on the weaved hair, blending the transition area by turning your brush vertically. Repeat on the other side.
Pro Tip
Minerals are found in 85% of household water which can cause lightener to puff and swell or color to take inaccurately.
Step 2
Slice a ½” subsection on one side of the “V” and apply the Base formula melting into the Ends formula blending the transition area by turning your brush vertically. Repeat on the other side.
Pro Tip
When applying your base color on top of the teased hair alternate between how low you drag the base color down on each foil. This creates dimension and a softer blend.
Step 3
Slice a ½” horizontal subsection above the “V” and tease the hair without weaving. Apply the Base formula on top of the teased hair and apply the Lightening formula to the rest of the hair blending the transition area by turning your brush vertically. Repeat Steps 1-3 throughout the back section.
Step 4
For the mohawk section, take ½” horizontal partings and alternate tease and weave (Step #1) and tease only slices (Step #3) applying the Base and Lightening formulas. Leave a 1” subsection in between applying the Base and Ends formulas (Step #2).
Pro Tip
To create a bold highlight around the face, take the last 2 slices back-to-back applying only a ½” shadow root of the Base formula melting into the Lightener formula blending the transition area by turning your brush vertically.
Process all 30 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with cold water and high water pressure until the water runs clear, condition with PRAVANA Color Protect Condition and style as desired.
Step 5
For each side section using diagonal forward partings, take ½” subsections and repeat the same pattern as the mohawk section. Process 30 minutes at room temperature, shampoo and towel-dry.
Step 6
Apply Silk Degrees Prep & Treat for 5 minutes at the sink, rinse and towel-dry well. Apply the Overlay formula and process 15 minutes at room temperature.
Step 7
Cleanse and condition. Detangle with Intense Therapy Leave-In Treatment, apply Full Volume to the roots for added lift and Hydra Pearl Oil to the mid-lengths and ends for thermal protection. Blow dry the hair and finish with Hydra Pearl Mist for added shine.

Prescribe PRAVANA Color Protect Cleanse and Condition which has antioxidant properties to stop residual oxidation for daily maintenance and Purify & Revive Cleanse once a week to diminish minerals that can neutralize coppers and reds.
