20g Pure Light Power Lightener + 60g 10 Volume Creme Developer

Color Formula

30g ChromaSilk Creme Hair Color 6.23 + 30g ChromaSilk Creme Hair Color 7Nt + 90g 10 Volume Creme Developer

Overlay Formula

30g ChromaSilk Creme Hair Color 9.23 + 45g 10 Volume Creme Developer

Application

Prep the hair by spraying Purify & Revive PRIME, combing through to distribute evenly and allowing to sit for 3 minutes while you mix your lightener. This will diminish any minerals in the hair that can affect the color and condition of the hair during a lightening service. (No shampoo or rinsing required.)

Step 1: Section

Create a working guide by parting the hair from ear to ear and hairline to crown at the natural part for two sections in the front. The remaining hair in the back creates your third section.

Step 2: Pre-Lightening – Back

Start by taking two ½” diagonal sections at the nape creating a “V”. On each side of the “V”, microstitch the hair (- – – – -) and apply the Lightening Formula. Next, take a horizontal section above these two sections, microstitch the hair (- – – – -) and apply the Lightening Formula. Repeat this three-section pattern throughout the entire back section.

Pro Tip

Begin your lightener application at least ½” away from the top of the foil and feather towards the scalp to create a soft blend and avoid harsh lines.

Step 3: Pre-Lightening – Front Sections

Start by taking a ½” diagonal forward section on one side at the bottom, microstitch the hair (- – – – -) and apply the Lightening Formula. Next, take a ½” horizontal section, microstitch the hair (- – – – -) and apply the Lightening Formula. Repeat this alternating pattern to the part, then repeat on the other side.

Pro Tip

Fold your foils just once softly, a harsh crease in the foil can leave in a band in the lightened hair.

Step 4: Color Application

Apply the Color Formula to the hair left out in between the foils from roots through the ends.

Pro Tip

Lightly mist Intense Therapy Leave-In Treatment to slightly dampen the hair before applying the color in between the foils for easier application.

Process 30 minutes at room temperature. Check the highlights every 5-10 minutes and rinse separately if they reach a Level 9 Light Yellow before the processing time is up. Cleanse only (no conditioner) with PRAVANA Intense Therapy Cleanse. Rinse and towel-dry well.

Step 5: Overlay Application

Apply the Overlay Formula from roots through the ends.

Pro Tip

Section the hair into the same three sections as in Step 1 for easier application.

Process 30 minutes at room temperature. Cleanse and condition with PRAVANA’s Intense Therapy regimen.

Step 6

Apply PRAVANA’s Polish & Reunite and a few drops of PRAVANA Hydra Pearl Oil to well towel-dried hair roots through the ends combing through for even distribution and blow dry. Apply a few light sprays of PRAVANA Hydra Pearl Mist before styling with a 1-1/2” curling iron. These three styling products provide thermal protection up to 450 degrees.
