Our contest is back - and better than ever! This year we have teamed up with behindthechair.com to offer our winner the ultimate prize package. Starting June 1st, students and stylists can enter their dreamiest color creations for a chance to win their own editorial photoshoot in Chicago!

Official Contest Rules

No fee or purchase is required. To enter, visit www.pravana.com, click through to the contest page, and click “submit entry”. From there you will be directed to the behindthechair.com Community website. You must follow directions from the dedicated upload page.

  1. Click "Submit Entry" above. Log in or Create a Profile on behindthechair.com/community.
  2. Click “Add Content” & select “Photos.” Upload Three Photos (Before, After Profile, After Front)
  3. Click “Browse” to select file/photo. Photo must be a high-resolution image (300dpi or larger). Select “Add Photo.”
  4. Enter Photo Details:
    • Description: PRAVANA CONTEST, along with technique and products used.
    • Tag: PRAVANA
    • Please Note: Entries must include at least one ChromaSilk VIVIDS shade and/or one ChromaSilk PASTELS shade.
  5. Hit “Save” at the bottom of the page to the left to complete your submission. Your photo will be uploaded to the behindthechair.com master page then moved to PRAVANA Show Us Your Vivids + Pastels gallery shortly thereafter.
  6. Entries must be submitted by “August 31st, 2013 11:59PM PST”

Once your entry is uploaded and submitted, all photos become the property of PRAVANA. By participating in this contest you are required to abide by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of PRAVANA, which are final.


Entry Materials

All uploaded images require:

  • One “Before” photo of model holding a sign that says “Before”
  • Two “After” photos of the model (profile and front)
  • Technique name and description of technique

Entry MUST include at least one ChromaSilk PASTELS Shade and/or one ChromaSilk VIVIDS Shade. Any additional hair color used must be ChromaSilk. All styling products used must be PRAVANA. High-res images are preferred.

Submissions become property of PRAVANA and may be used for advertising, publicity, website usage, or anything devised in the future. Please DO NOT submit photos taken from your stylist chair.

Only one entry per contestant is permitted. By entering you agree that all submissions become property of PRAVANA and can be used for future advertising, publicity, website usage, or anything devised in the future. All submissions will not be returned or acknowledged in the usage for PRAVANA. By entering your submission, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Official Rules, and you accept all of the policies referenced herein and agree to abide by its terms and conditions, and all applicable guidelines and regulations.


Eligibility

Open to all U.S. and international residents at least 18 years of age. Must be a licensed professional or registered cosmetology student. Proof of cosmetology license or school registration will be required for selected winners. Employees of PRAVANA, advertising and public relations agencies, educators, and their immediate families, and person residing in their households are not eligible to participate. SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.


Contest Dates

Entry submission will be open June 1st, 2013 at 12am PST and will close August 31st, 2013 at 11:59PM PST. Winners will be announced by PRAVANA on September 5th, 2013.


Winners

All winners agree to have all material submitted and their name in all future promotional activities, without future compensation except where prohibited by law. The prizes are not transferrable and must be accepted as awarded. No exchange for cash will be permitted and no refunds are allowed. The value of the prize fees, and surcharges of prize are sole responsibility of winner.


Notification

Failure to respond to winning notification within 5 business days will result in disqualification and next respective highest judged licensed professional entrant will be declared winner. Winners will be required to complete, execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, Grant of Rights/Publicity Release within a time period. Failure of winner to comply with requirement will result in disqualification and forfeit the prize (without any compensation).


Judging Details

Winners will be selected by PRAVANA's Artistic Council and notified by PRAVANA via phone call on September 5th, 2013. Winners will be announced to the public through PRAVANA and behindthechair.com Social Media Websites, Company Websites, and Email Blasts. Winning entries will be chosen based on creativity, technique, and overall impact. Submissions become property of PRAVANA and can be used for advertising, publicity, website usage, or anything devised in the future. High-res images are preferred.

Submitted Entries will be uploaded by PRAVANA to a contest album on the PRAVANA Facebook. The Facebook Fan Pick winner will be determined by the entry with the highest number of "likes" on their photo by August 31st, 2013 at 11:59PM PST.


Final Disclaimers

Any inappropriate photos submitted by entrants are prohibited and will disqualify entrant immediately. Inappropriate images will be decided by PRAVANA. All images, copy and text become property of PRAVANA once submitted and can be used for any purpose. Contest is only open to licensed professionals or registered cosmetology students. Decision by judges is final. Cash will not be issued in lieu of prize. By accepting the official contest rules you agree and will abide by all stated.

A stylist of 6 years, Chardai brings a fresh approach to the PRAVANA Artistic Council. Chardai knew she was destined to be in the beauty industry from a young age. Her mom was a stylist, and she has been familiar with salon life since she was 8 years old. She always knew that she wanted to translate art into hair, and is constantly inspired by music, shapes, and nature. As an educator, Chardai hopes to inspire others by being an example through style, fashion, makeup, and education. She is eager and happy to share her expertise and passion for PRAVANA products.

Daniel served his country in the Marine Corps where he began his career as a famed barber. Daniel had an epiphany that individuality would be priority.
